Project Competition 2016


Task

      Divide your class into groups of 2-6 students
      Get each group to make either an A3 poster or an online poster using Popplet 
                                                                       on  the topic of:     
                        Heroes, Myths and Legends

How to enter

Follow these simple steps:
    - In groups of 2-6, students create their poster.
    - For each group: Upload a JPEG image of your students’ poster OR enter a Popplet link  
            to their   online poster via our online entry form.
    - Fill out your personal details on the entry form, and click ‘submit’.

Closing date: Monday 29th February 2016

 

Need inspiration?

Use these Starter Questions in class to get your students thinking:
  1. What famous myths and legends can you think of?
  2. Which is your favourite?
  3. Is there a hero or heroine in your chosen myth/legend?
  4. What is the hero/heroine’s name?
  5. What did they do that was so heroic?
  6. Why do you think we still remember them today?

Prizes

For the winning teacher:

3 titles from the Resource Books for Teachers series, and a set of 20 Dominoes Readers for their school.

Runner-up prizes:

For teachers: 1 title from the Resource Books for Teachers series, and a set of 5 Dominoes Readers for their school.
For students: Project pencil cases and Project pens.

A certificate of participation for every student that enters.

Solutions Culture Competition

For My Students of Forms 10A, 7A and 7G!

 Take part in the 
 Solutions Culture Competition!

Take part in our Solutions Culture Competition to give your students a chance to show the world what makes their country special, by directing and filming a short film about their local, regional or national culture.

What's involved?

Students are asked to work in groups of up to 6 to create a film that is no more than 4 minutes long that explains an aspect of their local, regional or national culture. For example, the film could focus on music, dance, art, food, clothing, customs, architecture, festivals or social conventions.

Important: Please note that if you include footage of any members of the public in your video, you MUST obtain consent from them before your video is uploaded to You Tube or you submit your entry to the competition. Please read the competition Terms and Conditions carefully.

  Prizes

1st prize
The teacher responsible for the winning entry will be given an online professional development course, Teaching English to Teenagers run by Oxford Teachers Academy, a choice of 5 books from the Resource Books for Teachers series, and an exclusive Oxford pen.
Each student in the winning group will receive their own Polaroid Cube Action Camera, a pack of bestselling Readers and an Oxford Pen and Pencil set.

Runner up prizes
The four teachers responsible for the runners up entries will be given a complete set of World Stories Readers, and an exclusive Oxford pen.
Each student in the four runners up groups will receive a pack of bestselling Readers.
