What will you invent?

The Project Competition is back, and this year we're asking students what they would invent to make the world a better place.

We'd like students to imagine that they have unlimited budget and can invent anything that will help with one of these important global issues: climate action or improving health and wellbeing. What will they invent and how will it help?

Your task

For the Project Competition 2022, in a group of (2 to 4 students) we'd like you to imagine you can invent anything that will make the world a better place and will help with one of these important global issues: climate action or improving health and wellbeing.

Your project should address the following four questions:

1. What problem do you want to solve?
   • Climate action OR health and wellbeing 
   
2. Why is this problem important?
3. What is your invention?
4. How will your invention help?

Your entry can be hand drawn, produced on a computer, or you can use your own original photos. You can choose to create either a digital or print project, but the photograph that you upload of your project must be legible.

Opens: Monday 1st November 2021 | Closes: Thursday 31st March 2022

How to enter

Who can enter? Any teacher who teaches students age 10 – 17 can take part in the Project competition.

1. Tell us which problem you want to solve: Climate action OR improving health and wellbeing.
2. Explain why this problem is important.
3. Describe your proposed invention.
4. Explain how your invention will help solve the problem.
5. Make sure your project is your own original work and does not copy anyone else's work (e.g. no images copied from the internet).
6. If you use photos or drawings of real people, make sure you submit a completed model release form for each person that appears.
7. Make sure the text in your project is legible.
8. Read and accept the Terms and Conditions.
9. Submit your entry online.

Видавництво National Geographic Learning та компанія “Лінгвіст” запрошують учнів 1-11 класів взяти участь у конкурсі “Christmas Storytelling”!

Конкурс “Christmas Video Competition”  для  учнів 1-11 класів.

Дата: 9-27 грудня 2021 року
Участь: онлайн, безкоштовна

Завдання

I. Обрати початок однієї з історій на різдвяну тематику та написати її продовження:

1. “On Christmas Eve, Santa Claus lost all the presents”.
2. “Santa Clause came home and saw a present box next to his door”
3. “No Christmas this year!” – said mother to Jack angrily.

II. Дати історії назву.

III. Зробити аудіозапис своєї історії.

• Формат:Для учнів 1-4 класів історія може бути у форматі коміксу (до 10 слайдів) або текст (80-100 слів). Малюнки/фотографії учня мають бути персональними, не завантаженими з інтернету.
• Для учнів 5-8 класів історія має бути 120 – 150 слів. Можна додати персональні малюнки/фотографії учня (не фотографії з інтернету)
• Для учнів 9-11 класів історія має бути до 220 – 250 слів. Можна додати персональні малюнки/фотографії учня (не фотографії з інтернету)

Умови

1. Письмова робота у форматі PDF, на початку обов’язково має бути вказане ім’я та прізвище учня, клас, навчальний заклад, населений пункт, ПІБ вчителя. Аудіо запис у зручному форматі. Назвіть файл прізвищем учня.
2. Надіслати роботу учнів мають їхні викладачі.
3. Період прийому відео 09 – 27 грудня 2021 року.
4. Оголошення переможців відбудеться 14 січня 2022 року.
5. Кожен учень може взяти участь лише один раз.
6. Текст, фотографії, малюнки мають бути оригінальними, не додавайте фотографій з мережі, або скопійованих/перероблених текстів. Такі роботи не братимуть участі в конкурсі. Поважайте авторські права!

Призи

Всі учасники отримають сертифікати. (В разі дотримання умов Конкурсу)

У кожній категорії ми оберемо 3 переможців (молодша (1-4 класи), середня (5-8 класи), старша (9-11 класи). Переможці окрім сертифікатів отримають книжки для читання від National Geographic Learning.

Викладачі учнів-переможців отримають сертифікати та підручники з англійської мови від видавництва National Geographic Learning.
